Pastor Chris & Amy Connell
Chris was born in Springfield, Missouri while
his parents were attending Evangel College. He moved with
this family to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1976 where Chris
spent his teen and childhood years. Upon graduating from high
school in 1988 Chris attended Southeastern College in Lakeland,
Florida and graduated in 1992 with a degree in Pastoral Ministries.
Three years later he married his college sweetheart, Amy,
and moved her to Huntsville, Alabama where Chris had taken
a position as a youth and associate pastor of an Assemblies
of God church. While in Alabama, Chris was ordained as an
Assemblies of God minister.
Amy was born in Rochester, New York and after
making several moves, settled in Raleigh, North Carolina with
her family in the early 80's. It was in 1989 that she met
Chris while attending Southeastern College. Interestingly
enough, Chris and Amy share similar geographical backgrounds,
since both families are from the upstate New York area.
Chris and Amy both committed their lives to
the Lord at an early age and with that commitment came a call
for full-time ministry. It wasn't until long after their dating
years that they both realized that they shared a similar calling.
While pastoring in Alabama, the Connells began to feel an
urgency to take steps toward establishing an evangelistic
ministry. With that in mind, they moved to Chris' home town
and began Way of the Cross Ministries, INC., a non-profit
501(c)3 corporation, with the goal of seeing more persons
in this generation come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
than any previous generation. Since their commitment to being
in full-time evangelism, Chris and Amy have preached in church
revivals, youth camps, retreats, campus clubs, school assemblies,
prisons, kids camps, rescue missions, outreaches, and overseas
in Haiti. They plan to travel all over the world with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to win the lost and set captives free.
They also hope to start a family and raise their children
in the faith.
